Find Newspaper Articles
Searching for newspaper articles through a database allows you to find both recent and older articles by subject or keyword. It's also cheaper because you will not be asked to pay to view the articles. You can look for articles from a specific source (New York Times ) OR search across a huge variety of national and international newspapers.
Use
Off Campus Access to access these databases from off campus
New York Times Articles
Current (1999+) | Historical (1865-2001)
General Search:
- Select “General” under the “Search” tab (this is the default setting)
- Enter your search keywords (ex: Endangered species and regulations)
- Select “Major US and World Publications” (this is the default setting)
- Reduce or extend date range using pull down menu, if needed (the default setting is to search within the last 2 years)
Search Specific Source(s):
- Select “Power Search” (right of the “Easy Search” tab)
- Click the “Find More Sources” Link to the right of the “Select Sources” box
- To search for a source, use the “Find a Source” search box in the upper right hand corner
- To browse through available sources, select the “News” icon, filter news sources by Country and Region and/or Topic, check radio box of desired source(s) and click the red “Ok-Continue” button to return to the search screen and enter your search keywords
